Reading a 500 pages book in Bookends

Post by sudeepshroff »

Hi

I've realised these days that Bookends PDF annotation features, its integration with Hookmark, and its deep linking functionality are so powerful that I'm considering reading whole PDF books (f.e. textbooks) of 300-500 pages in Bookends. My attachments are stored in one of the iCloud folders.

Is this a good idea? I mean to ask--if Bookends can handle very large PDF files without any issue?

Any help, suggestion or feedback is appreciated.
Thanks.
Regards,

Others can chime in with their experiences, but I see no reason why the size of the PDF would make any difference. In case you haven't discovered them, the PDF reader also can show thumbnails and a TOC, as well as a "back" shorcut if you click on an internal link, which makes navigation of large PDFs easier.

Thanks. I'll try with a couple of PDF textbooks. I currently use Skim PDF as it supports deep linking & I use that feature with Hookmark app.

Bookends has extensive deep linking, and was the Hookmark parter of the month in April. :-)

Hookmark also has a web page and a video showing it in use with Bookends (they are also linked from our tutorials pages)

P.S. There are also some really nice improvements in the Bookends PDF viewer and note stream coming later this summer.
