converting EndNote in-text citations to Bookends ones

Post by hitt »

I am just beginning to move from EndNote to bookends, and have a longish paper with EndNote in-text citations embedded. I would like to open it (in MS Word 2004 for Mac) and globally change all these to Bookends ones. Is there a simple way?
Many thanks.

Hi,

The way that seems to work for most people is:

1. Unformat the Word doc (remove EN formatting).
2. Import refs into Bookends via XML (that way, the EN record # becomes the Bookends unique ID).
3. Make sure Bookends is set to recognize the citation delimiters (either {} or [], set in Bookends Preferences).
4. Scan.
