As I make groups, I typically use abbreviated names. When I return later to a library, I sometimes fail to remember exactly why I made the group.
Could we have a way to include a note field associated with a group (or smart group) to help with this administrative task?
By specific example, I have a group titled LFNPsIH that I would like to remember is for references that comment on Langmuir films of nanoparticles with isotherm hysteresis.
Feature Request: Note Field for Groups
Re: Feature Request: Note Field for Groups
I doubt we would add the overhead for something like that. But after giving it some thought I see a solution that is pretty straightforward. You want the abbreviated group names (I assume) for quick identification while the groups pane is reasonably narrow. Groups names are not limited in length, and you could achieve those goals and still have access to the full name when needed. In your example, I suggest a name something like this
LFNPsIH [Langmuir films of nanoparticles with isotherm hysteresis]
The group pane only need be wide enough to show
LFNPsIH
But you can temporarily widen it to read the full name (or double click on the group to see the full name in a dialog) when needed.
