Hide Elements from UI?

Post by digitaltheologian »

I have created a custom format, and it would be great if there were an option to hide the Types that you won't be using. It would also be helpful to be able to hide or make the fields uneditable for a type. I assume this is not possible, and I thought I would ask. If not possible, could this be added as a feature request?

Thanks for a great product.

The Types you don't use in a format don't show up in the popup menu, so I'm not sure what you mean. If there is a format we distribute with Types you don't use, you can remove them (Delete Type at the bottom of the popup menu).

As for hiding fields for a Type, it's possible but presents lots of problematic UI issues. You can rearrange the locations of fields, so if you focus on books, for example, you can move book-related fields closer to the top of the window. But other than that we don't intend to hide fields.
