Glitches in Case-change functions

Post by tharpold »

The "Global Change/Change Case..." function in BE 9.0.1 appears to have a small glitch with titles that include certain forms of punctuation in the body of the title.

Converting this title --

Preface to the translation of Charcot’s "lectures on diseases of the nervous system"

-- from Sentence to Title case produces --

Preface to the Translation of Charcot’s "lectures on Diseases of the Nervous System"

Note that the l of lectures is lower-case. Similarly, this title --

Draft K. the neuroses of defence: a Christmas fairy tale

-- is converted to --

Draft K. the Neuroses of Defence: a Christmas Fairy Tale

...

The Title Case Change conversion appears to have some trouble with certain forms of punctuation inside the title field: notably, periods, semicolons, colons, single and double quotation marks and parentheses. Roman numerals ("lxvii") also pose problems, but this seems to me unavoidable.

Hm, I think I fixed this a while ago. In any case, in 9.0.2 I get

Peface to the Translation of Charcot’s "Lectures on Diseases of the Nervous System"

Again, in 9.0.2 I get

Draft K. The Neuroses of Defence: A Christmas Fairy Tale.

So get 9.0.2 when it's released (or get the beta) and see if it now works for you, too.
