The Uni where I work uses a password protected proxy. Since this is a pain I use SquidMan to redirect the proxies. Essentially app requests internet address, request is sent to squidman, squidman channels it though the Uni proxy and supplies the password.
This works for the internet search in Bookends (if the appropriate proxy info is set in the prferences) but doen't work for the Check for updates or import from PubMed by dragging from Safari. The latter both work at home where there is no proxy.
Interestingly using LittleSnitch the internet search is correctly going through SquidMan but the check for updates and drag import are requesting connections directly from Bookends (ie they don't seem to be using the proxy info set in Bookends).
Any chance of checking up on this?
