Odd behavior from custom intext citation format
Odd behavior from custom intext citation format
I created a custom intext citation format for books: d|~: ~p-. As I understand this coding, the | binds the ~: ~ to the p. In other words, the colon and space will be output only if there is a page or page range cited. If the p field is empty, then the colon and space are not output. Here is the problem. The colon is not being 'outputted' even when the p field has a value. What am I doing wrong?
Yes, the particular citation is a book. In fact, this behavior is effecting all of my intext citations of books in this particular document.
Would it make a difference if some of the book records in the DB had page numbers in the "pages" field and others did not. I have noticed that when I download bibliographic info from, say, LOC, that field is filled with the total # of pages in the text, as well as those in the front matter. I do not enter values for that field when enter a book manually. This is probably a long shot, but I thought I would add this bit of information.
