problem with characters on import

Post by Gerben »

I have a problem with some characters after an input from Ebsco. Some examples:

‚Äê should be -
“ should be "

So i get "pre‚Äêmodern" instead of "pre-modern", for example.

Is there a way to tell BE to modify this upon import? Or am i overlooking something basic here?

Thanks,
Gerben

Did you tell Bookends that the imported text was encoded in UTF-8 (File -> Import Text Endoding)?

Thought already it was something simple ... this was indeed the trick, thanks!
