Can't import references

I'm a novice user. I saved a reference to my local computer from an online Psychology research database (PsychInfo). I selected Import Ref from the File menu, selected the Ovid PsychInfo filter, and selected the file from its location on the hard drive. I then receive a Bookends dialog stating:

DONE. Number imported: 0

and there is no reference added to the Bookends library.

Wht am I doing wrong?

Nothing. Realize, though, that there are many service providers that output information from the same database in different ways, and that vendors can change the way the information is output.

What you should do is open the file in TextEdit, open the Bookends filter (File -> Import Filters Manager) and compare them. The most common cause of "0 references imported" is that the field for "References being with" is incorrect. Usually simply tweaking the filter is sufficient.
