'Out of Bounds' error?

Post by lclapointe »

Hi -- I've just upgraded from 9.05. I've been using BE for a LONG time so I've upgraded through LOT'S of versions in the past. This is the first time I've had trouble.

Firstly, I did NOT copy my ver 9.05 DB when I ran 9.1 for the first time. Usually I do --- but I was in a hurry this time :(

1. Moved my attachments, etc. as per usual
2. Ran 9.1
3. Was prompted to UPDATE my DB -- agreed to do this.
4. BE terminated... no warning.

Repeated above. Same results.

5. Tried to load the DB using BE 9.05. Get an 'OUT OF BOUNDS' error.
6. Tried to rebuild, reindex, repair, etc. ... no luck.

This is a pretty valuable DB (>3K refs). Any suggestions?

For those following, the db was corrupted by the crash. Please do backup when Bookends is modifying the underlying database structure (that's why we give the warning). And use the automatic backup feature in Bookends -- it can be a lifesaver if something goes wrong.
