Special characters

Post by maarten »

Hi Jon,

Maybe a stupid question. When I try to open the menu for 'special characters' nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Maarten

Hi,

It should open the Character Palette (it does for me). Maybe you already have this open?

Hi Jon,

No that's not it. What could it be? I will try to figure it out, probably something with my language settings.

Thanks,

It should do the same thing as clicking on your keyboards menu (AKA input menu) in the menu bar and selecting Show Character Palette. If you don't have a keyboards menu (i.e. it's the US flag icon generally for US keyboards), you can turn it on in System Preferences > International > Input Menu > Show input menu in menu bar, and make sure that Character Palette is checked at the top of the long list of keyboards.

If you can't get Show Character Palette to work either, then I don't know what's wrong.
