Is there a way to turn 'ibid' on and off?

Is there a way to turn 'ibid' on and off?

Post by deut3221 »

I uses Mellel and Bookends (an awesome combo!!).

I generally use Ibid for repeated references. But, occasionally, it doesn't fit the note.

Is there a way to force Bookends to cite the reference and not use Ibid?

Thanks,
-steve.

Hi,

Sure. In the format, go to the second tab and uncheck "Use Ibid."

Jon,

Thanks for the quick reply, but I didn't explain well.

In a document I want Bookends to normally use Ibid, but occasionally I want to use the full reference.

In other words, in a Mellel document, I want Bookends to use Ibid by default, but I want to override Ibid on rare occasion.

(When I uncheck "Use Ibid," it turns it off for the whole document. I want to turn it on and off within the same document.)

Is that possible.

No, I don't think so. In those instances, you could Copy Formatted instead (which places the final, formatted citation instead of the temporary one).
