feature request: turn off natural order sorting

Post by palazzo »

I noticed that since a recent version (9.2.something), Bookends has been sorting numbers in "natural order". While this can be a nice feature in general, it is hell for those who use UDC (Universal Decimal Classification) call numbers. In UDC, 9 should come AFTER 899.999, so "conventional" computer ordering is a must. Could there be an option somewhere to turn this natural ordering off and revert to conventional, alphanumeric ordering?

Do you mean in the list view? Yes, in preferences you can set sorting to ASCII or Unicode.

Ah, I see… But, is that going to influence the bibliography output sort order?

No, that's just for the lists in Bookends.
