Very slow opening of db 29 recs = 1 min

When I open a db with 29 records I get the spinning wheel for appr. 1 minute. Is this normal? Is there anything can do to speed it up. Not a big issue. What is one minute compared to the life of a mac?

Hi,
You get this every time? -- that would be very odd. Before Bookends does an automatic backup it does do a Verify, and that can take some time on an older Mac with a large db, but that doesn't sound like the issue here.
My basic test db opens in 1-3 seconds on my iMac.
If this is reproducible for you, please zip and send me the db and I'll test it here.

I exported as xml and imported into a new db. Speed now same as Jon's.
Verify did not indicate any problems with the old db but it took a minute to load. Several times. A minute ago I decided to rebuild the old db. the rebuilt db was as fast as the new one.
No reason to worry about this any more. I have decided to frequently export as xml as an additional backup.
Nice to see that Valentina seems to be as robust as they claim.
