Bug? Page numbers and custom text in citations

Post by palazzo »

I have found a way to get Bookends confused. When I input both page numbers and a custom text in a citation I get "???" as the scanned output. For example:

{Author, Title} >> works fine.
{Author, Title@123} >> works fine.
{Author, Title\, § 456\} >> works fine.
{Author, Title@123\, § 456\} >> doesn't work.
{Author, Title\, § 456\@123} >> doesn't work.

I need both data (page and §) when citing classic books where the page number refers to the specific edition I'm using and the paragraph number refers to standard locations in the text.

Hi,

You can't mix these. If you need "quoted text" (as we call it) place the page number there as well:

{Author, Title\, p. 123, § 456\}

or however you'd like the pages to look.

Thanks; no big deal, I only ever use one format for citations anyway.
