I am wondering if an automatic online search from within Bookends in the ABEBooks databases of antiquarian booksellers would be a wellcome feature for more users?

Whether it would be desirable is a less important question than whether it provides z39.50 or SRU access. A quick google suggests that it doesn't, unfortunately.
