A couple of suggestions on importing filters for online databases. They belong to the Imports Filter Dialog window, Misc. tab.
Sugg. #1:
Add as insert options (in the drop-down menu, along with Date, Text)
a) Arbitrary text input. A dialog window pops up upon clicking import asking user to input text. (Use scenario: Typically all the references I'm importing share keywords; it'll be easier for me to specify the common keyword/s as I import them, rather than then having to go back to the references).
b) Search string. This is really useful when you're going back to the reference.
Sugg. #2:
Apply a "global change" action (from Refs/Global Change submenu) to imported items. I typically need to change to Title Case.
I hope this makes sense!
Suggestions on Import Filters
#1
a) For global changes like that, I suggest that you do a Global Change -> Insert after import to add the keywords of interest (do this with the selected refs).
b) Sorry, I don't understand.
#2
Same as #1. Remember, after import the references you import are selected, so you can do any global change to them immediately.
Alternatively, you can import to the hits list, which is a little more persistent, then apply global changes to the hits.
