Acessing Web of Science using a VPN account

Hi!
There are a number of posts about this topic in the forum suggesting that it is possible to use Bookends to access WoS from home using a VPN account.

I would like to know if anyone has actually accessed WoS this way.

My university library recomends the use of a browser to acess WoS and other privileged sites instead of using the direct VPN connection, specially in the case of Mac users. This works fine, except that, of course, I can't use Bookends to do a search...

I intend to persuade them to set up a VPN configuration for Macs, but I would like to confirm that this really works, before doing so.

yes - doing it right now and it works fine - it's just like i'm on campus.
