This is probably specific to very few people but I encounter the following issue:
I am working with newspapers in my research with many articles from the same years and many without author. I cite by author/date/unique ID (by content gives problems of ambigous citations). I have an output format which outputs newspaper articles by full date but in the citations in Mellel only the year is displayed. The result is that when I have a citation in Mellel I cannot see immediately on what full date an article was published. This is rather important in my writing so I keep looking up the articles in the BE db but that takes time.
Would there be a way to have BE display the full date when cite by author/date/unique ID? Perhaps include a 3rd option for cite by in the prefs that gives some more info on the ref but still includes the unique ID?

display of citations in document
Re: display of citations in document
You can cite by any elements you want. Create a citation format that included the full date if you like, as well as the unique id, and tell Bookends to use that (in preferences). Note that you must take care to create a format that doesn't generate citations with information that isn't in the actual references (with the exception of et al., which Bookends will ignore when looking up a citation).
