Searching Databases from Within Bookends

Post by mchapman »

Typically I use Firefox to search the databases I have access to. However, I thought I would try to search the databases from within Bookends. However, I can't get it to work. In this example I am trying to search some EBSCOhost databases. Here is what I am doing:

1. Go to Browser access point for my institution
2. Login using my username and password
3. Choose my databases
4. Enter my search terms and hit return

Thus far everything works find and I get the first page of the found sources. However, from hear it does not work. When I click on Next to go to the next page nothing happens. When I try to jump to a new page nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Mark

Nothing, I imagine. Javascript is turned off to avoid some cosmetic problems that can arise at some sites. I'm guessing that's why the buttons don't work. Just to see, try right-clicking on the Next button and see if anything in the contextual menu is helpful. If not, a workaround may be to tell EBSCO that you want more hits returned per page.
