Author first name in inserted reference?

Post by cysouw »

I'm using Bookends (10.3.1) with Mellel (2.5), and just today for the first time, when I insert a reference in the default "author-date-unique ID" form, the first name of the author is also added, e.g.:

{Dryer Matthew S., 2005, #2841}

I'd rather have it as it used to be:

{Dryer, 2005, #2841}

Any idea what happened, and how I could change this back to the older behaviour?

My guess is that you entered the author name without a comma, so Bookends thinks the whole thing is the surname. It should be entered in the database as

Dryer, Matthew S
