So the volume(issue) will be imported correctly regardless of their order in the record being imported. This will appear in 8.1.3.

Would you like to include an import filter for CiteULike with 8.1.3? If so, I can email you the one I wrote (although I make no special claims for it, since it's the first one I've written).

Hallo, ich habe im Sinn, von Endnote umzusteigen und bin auf der Suche nach jemandem, der bereits etwas bookend-Erfahrung hat. Wohnt jemand in der Gegnend (will heissen: In und um Zürich, Schweiz) und wäre bereit, mir die ersten Schritte mal beizubringen?

Mein Deutsch ist sehr schlect. (I hope I didn't just say my chicken was on fire).
Unless this is meant only for German-speaking individuals, you'll have to either reenter it in English or get someone to do it for you.

stefan asked for people in the Zürich area (Switzerland) who might help him move from Endnote to Bookends. I guess that there are people using Bookends, but they are probably not reading this forum as much as others do. However, we have a few German-speaking users in this forum – stefan, you might just want to open a new topic in German in this forum in which you ask specific questions regarding the move from Endnote to Bookends. We'll try to help - that way we will have a German resource in this forum for those who want to make the switch…?

I think it's fine to have a "local" topic, and if it's easier to help Stefan in German that makes sense. I would ask, however, that essential points (not the whole discussion) also be stated in English so that others who are not fluent in German can learn as well.

Export Bookends into Citeulike

Has anyone successfully sent information the other way - exporting Bookends into a BibTex file, then importing the bib file into Citeulike? Citeulike has what they claim is a robust
BibTex importer, but it generates solid errors when I try to import anything that Bookends generates.
I know this is easier for Citeulike to resolve, but in case anyone has already solved this (or has a suggestion), help appreciated.

Filter available?

I've been using citeulike for a while but only today discovered Bookends -- and what a joy that has been. However, I'm having the same problem importing from citeulike that started this thread. I couldn't actually find the filter that was mentioned as having solved the problem. Is it available somewhere?

Hi,
Use the BibTeX filter (you may have to edit it a bit as noted in an earlier post in this thread) to ignore unwanted fields.
If you don't see BibTeX as an option, go to
File -> Import Filters Manager
scroll to BibTeX, and check its checkbox.

Actually I emailled the CiteULike Bibtex filter to Jon at the time and I thought he had included it in the distribution. At least, it shows up twice in the list of import filters I have, so I thought one was my original copy and the other the copy that Jon now distributes with Bookends.
Whoops, nicka, you're right. I forgot, and thanks for reminding us. The filter is called
