Hi,

I am new to this forum--and to Bookends.

Now I am wondering, does anybody know if there is a format for the Sheffield Academic Press (SAP) housestyle?

I tried to search the archive, but couldn't find anything.

Best wishes,
Bjorn

I recently created three Bookends formats based on the SAP style manual (Sheffield Phoenix Press), 2d edition: bibliography, footnotes, and author-date. They work well and require very little post-processing, but do require a few changes to the reference fields. These are minor, and my goal was to conform as closely as possible to reference fields used in Chicago, Turabian, etc., to preserve compatibility. One distinctive in my approach has been to use the journal title field for serials, journals, and common encyclopedic works that often abbreviate titles. This has proven helpful for formats such as SBL, which requires full titles in bibliographies but abbreviations in footnotes. SAP requires abbreviations in bibliographies, if the abbreviation is listed in the SAP style guide (essentially the same abbreviations that used by SBL). If interested, leave message.

Yes indeed, this sounds interesting!
If you would like to share your format, it would be much appreciated.
