Review Articles Lose Designation Upon Import

Hi, Am running BE 9.07. Using BE's own internet utility I can find review articles by a given author in PubMed. But when they import into the database, they appear as journal articles.

Anyone know a fix?

Thanks, Ed Sanchez

Probably this could be fixed by editing the PubMed filter. If you send me the search you did I'll take a look.

OK. But not sure exactly what to send to you. I see that I can save a search, but don't know if that generates a separate file or something that I can send to you.

I simply used advanced search under BE utility, set it for review articles using the name: mangelsdorf d

Got many hits, all reviews, but upon import they are journal articles.

Thanks Eddie

That's enough. Edit the PubMed import filter, click on the button at the bottom labeled "Edit Type definitions", and enter "Review" (without the quote marks) next to the field Review. That should do it.

Jon,

Tried your fix but articles are still imported as journal articles rather than reviews.

Thanks for trying....Eddie

Ah, I see why. Here's the actual MEDLINE data that Bookends is importing (a piece of it):

FAU - Kalaany, Nada Y
AU - Kalaany NY
FAU - Mangelsdorf, David J
AU - Mangelsdorf DJ
LA - eng
PT - Journal Article
PT - Review

Note that PubMed lists the article as BOTH a Journal Article and a Review. Bookends can only grab one, and it takes the first one.
