APA references

It looks like I have two reference lists at the end of my document. I am not sure why this has happened. I have made numerous changes to the doc and scanned several times, however there is now a second reference list and I have to cut and paste to put them in the right order. Some of the references have to be deleted manually. Any ideas on this?
I am using latest release.

You didn't say what word processor you are using.
If it is Word, I'd unscan the document, remove the bibliography (if one remains), and then scan again.
I'd do that on a copy of the doc, BTW, just in case there is some corruption in the Word manuscript.

I am using Word 2004. I unscanned, deleted the references and scanned.
Result was no references. Of course I created a test doc to do this in which was a copy of the original. Any ideas?
