Basic problem with "print reference"

When creating a "Works Cited"-List in a paper from a Bookends entry I usually did:
1) Select the reference from the Bookends DB
2) Choose File / Print reference
3) I get a small window "Print References" and I tell him "OK"
4) I get a new small window "Print" and I tell him "Preview"
5) I finally get the desired text in the appropriate citing format: I select the text with "copy" and paste it in my paper in NeoOffice.
But this does not work anymore, due to Bookends Version 9.0.6 or any changes unknown to me.
In Step 5 I get a pdf-document. When selecting the citation I can't select it on a text level but rather a picture level, that is, a frame with 8 points. When I copy-paste it in my paper I get a black box there but not the desired text.
What am I doing wrong?

It works here. I suspect that in Preview you have the picture cropping tool selected instead of the text selection tool (Tool Mode in the toolbar).

Hi Herbert,

Is this procedure 1-5 really necessary ? I would use a simple "copy formatted"...?
