Changing the name of an added Format type?

Post by Tuffnellpark »

I've recently switched to version 9 and was quite puzzled when I wanted to add a new type to a specific format. I went to the Type-dropdown and chose "Add Type" and then selected "Unused". I didn't find a way though to change the name of the type. So in the type dropdown of my refernce window it still appears as "Unused". Not really helpful. What can I do?

It's the preferences, stupid

Okay, I found it. However, having to edit this in the preferences is a usibility nightmare. I'm sure, the next time I come across this in a few months I'll have forgotten and will be confronted with the same problem. Would be nice if the type name could be changed in the process of adding a new type.

I answered your email, but your server rejected my ip address.

As for this instance -- it belongs where it is, in Preferences. It is an application-wide change, not per format or per database.
