Hi,

I just started using Bookends after switching from Endnote. I imported my entire Endnote library to Bookends using an XML file. I then tried inserting citations into a test document, but after hitting Scan a Doc in MS Word, I get multiple citations for a single reference. I also get asked about ambiguous references when they all are entirely unique.

I insert the following:

This is just a test. {%ACS, 2005, #569}

...and after running Scan a Doc with ambiguous citations filter on, I get the following result after clicking "This One" several times to dismiss the ambiguous citation window and to identify the proper citation:

This is just a test. 1, 1, 1
1. ACS Cancer Facts & Figures 2005. 1-60; 2005.

My question is: Why are there multiple in-text citations for this one reference? I have not encountered this problem before with Endnote and I am not sure why Bookends does this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

It's because you have set comma (,) as your citation delimiter in Preferences. Unless your are scanning a BibTeX document, it should be set to something else (usually the semicolon (;)).
