Can't detect internet connection

Very minor problem here, but one that's been bugging me for a while. When I choose "check for updates" I get a "can't detect internet connection" error message, though I do of course have one and am able to do internet searches, etc from within Bookends. Any idea how to fix this? I've tried deleting pref files with no success.

I don't know, I never heard of that before. It works for me at two different locations. Anyone else have a problem like this?

I have got it fixed: I had missed one of the preference files (there are 4 of them?). Trashing the com.sonnysoftware.bookends.plist file did it.
