Hi,

I needed a bribe to get going with an old master thesis that never materializes. I bought the set of Mellel and Bookends. It really feels nice to pay for software. Bookends seems though a bit complex for my needs which makes it more difficult to use. Got a shock when the manual was over 200 pages. Would be glad with o short beginners guide to get going. Last night i was fighting to define how a student thesis (may be its called paper in english, must check when i come home) reference should look like in the preferences. Did not make that out. But I will continue trying. For me the interface is not the easiest. I guess it suites people how want to have total contol and can understand how to make it happen as they want. For me is to make work easier not worse.:)

Hi,

Did you take the tutorial that comes with Bookends? It introduces you to many basic concepts and features of the application.

Sorry, must check that in the downloaded file I have at home. I have now printed out the long version at work.

Please do that. The User Guide (what you have) is a reference that provides lots of details about that app. It's not really meant to be read "cover to cover", but used to get detailed information about a particular topic. The tutorial is a narrative that will walk you through many of the functions and features of Bookends.
