Import pdf links from Endnote

I'm trying to make the switch from Endnote & its many frustrations to bookends. However, after successfully importing my Endnote references, I found that the links to their associated .pdfs were lost in translation. Is there anyway I can avoid having to go through all 800+ references and attach the pdfs?
Thanks kindly for what seems to be a great program!

Hi Justin,
Did you export/import as XML? If you did, the pdf links should be preserved. If you did this as XML and it didn't work, please send me just *one* reference output from EN as XML that should have a link, and I'll see why it wasn't imported.

Thanks so much for your reply.
So it looks as though it did import - just to the bottom of the "notes" section.
I exported the Endnote X references to xml, then went to import references on my copy of Bookends 8, and selected "Import references from: XML (EndNote) from file" without "Import to hits list" selected. Is there something else I should be doing?
I'll send the one reference from Endnote as soon as I figure out how to send it to you? Would email work?
Here are the contents of the notes section for one reference:

If it was imported into Notes, my guess is that the pdf link was not kept in the correct field (it was "Images" in EN 8 as I recall, not sure at the moment what it is in EN X).
I can check for you if you send it to me (
support@sonnysoftware.com), but I'm pretty sure that's it.

Thanks - I just sent the file.
What's the easiest way to transfer it to the correct field?
Best wishes,
Justin

The file you sent imports fine for me, including the attachment. Let's continue this tec support issue by direct email.
