Secondary reference

Hi,

I know that it is recommended to always use first hand reference but sometimes on student level its okey to do a second hand reference (not sure of the Engllish word for it. But I mean when an auther refers to anoter auther and book). I would like that only the secondary book is noted in the bibliography but in the text both authors should be noted.

e.g

in text

(Herman & Chomsky, 1988, in Tumber, 1993)

in bibliography

Tumber, Howard (1993) Selling scandal: business and the media i Media, Culture and
Society, SAGE, London, Newbury Park and New Delhi, vol 15 , 345-361.

Can bookends do this? If so how?

yours

In this case, simply enter the first citations as "quoted text":

{\Herman & Chomsky, 1988, in, \Tumber, 1993 whatever}

I tried to do as you advised. When scanned the document the reference in the text looked like this.

, in (Herman & Chomsky, 1988, Dahlén, 1999)

But I would like to get it as:
(Herman & Chomsky, 1988, in Dahlén, 1999)

If i understood you right when you said to enter the first citations as "quoted text" means to type in the reference manually with the special charachters as you did.

Are you sure you typed in the "in" in the quoted text?

{\Herman & Chomsky, 1988, in, \Tumber, 1993 whatever}

If you did, it should be output as is in the final citation.

If you can't get it to work, please post exactly what you used in the citation.
