I've just received an announcement about the forthcoming Nisus Writer Pro. I currently use Mellel, but just in case, I'm wondering how Bookends works, or will work, with Nisus.

Just like it does now -- scanning RTF (I assume the macro we provide, or another, will work as it does now, too). Personally, I think you're going to want to stick with Bookends and Mellel, if you catch my drift...

I think I catch your drift. And I love Mellel and Bookends -- for the time being. But I need some good tools for the early stages of the writing process (Mellel is just fine at final drafts), so I'm waiting to see what's next.

I'd like to catch more of your drift, if you know what I mean.....

While there has been a ton of talk about cross-referencing, there hasn't been much discussion from the top levels about bibliographic enhancement between Mellel and Bookends. Care to give any hints on what is planned?

I don't like to comment on new features until they are ready for release, and this is doubly true when another company is involved. Ori has already mentioned that enhanced bibliography/reference management functions were on tap for Mellel, though, and I don't mind confirming that. I won't get into specifics, but will say that I think you will like what we have planned (and one or two new features might even come as a pleasant surprise).
