extract reference information from web pages

This is not really a BE question but it seems an appropriate place still.. I wonder how people using BE input citation info for web pages? I regularly save pages, for example news items. Does any software exist that can extract the relevant info? I know Zotero can do something but it only seems to save a title and nothing more.

Best,

I just tried Zotero. I searched PubMed and saved the results. I could then export them to an RIS file that Bookends could import. All information was retained. I can't speak for other sites, but at least for PubMed it works properly.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for checking this out. I just tested with some news websites and works ok (one still needs to add the date but that has to do with how Zotero captures a particular site of course).
