After compiling a bibliography, I went back to check some of the 505a field information under references. Noticing many were missing the information that I was quite sure had been included before, I started searching again using the same engine. Indeed, 505 fields were listed under the MARC record, so I don't think it was simply my memory being off. That information appears not to have been saved. Is there something I did wrong? Or is this potentially a bug?
This occured after conducting searches specifically in the abstract field
TIA.
505a field not saved under abstract?
Thanks Jon. I did that already. Perhaps my posting was not so clear. What I'm wondering is if there is perhaps some bug that would not save the "abstract" field which has been set up to import the 505a field. Perhaps I'm missing something else here. But I swear abstract fields went blank at some point after the creation of a list (naturally, some do not include 505a information; but others clearly did).
I'm also having problems getting bibliographies to create a hanging indent, even though it is set in the preferences.
One final question, is there any way to know where new builds have been released? On the forum, you've mentioned new builds being uploaded.
Thanks again.

It should work (of course), and I haven't had a problem. But perhaps you could contact me directly and give me a search to perform. If 505a is in a tag field and is not being imported, I'll see what the problem is.spd wrote:Thanks Jon. I did that already. Perhaps my posting was not so clear. Hanging indents are created only when you scan a document. If you just make a bib (send to Bib Window with Biblio Formatter) and copy it to your word processor, the leading tab will be there, but you'll have to adjust the margin and margin indent settings in the word processor yourself.I'm also having problems getting bibliographies to create a hanging indent, even though it is set in the preferences.
Things have been hectic because version 8 is a complete rewrite of Bookends, and so of course there are more problems than one usually has with an update. We will upload an official "bug fix" update later this week (8.0.1). Please watch for that. One final question, is there any way to know where new builds have been released?
