Hi Jon!

I have a feature request for a future update, that would make Bookends X even more Mac-ish, than it already is:

I would like to see folders instead of groups (like in iPhoto 5) and the ability to drag and drop refs from (and to) the list window directly into the folders.
That way you wouldn't have to go to the refs menu and choose add to group or go to the refs window and drag and drop the IDs to the group to organize your refs.
And it would also be nice, if you could rename a folder just be clicking its name and enter a new one.

I agree to all of this. Unfortunately, it can't be done right now with the interface builder we use. But when it can, we'll do it.

BTW, instead of using the menu to add to groups, try using the contextual menu (right-click or Control-click in the list -- the selected refs will be added to the group you select, or the new group you create).

I agree that this would make it much nicer. I'd also like the option to rename the folders and to be able to drag files from one folder to another.

You can rename a group right now -- double click on it in the left pane and you'll have that option.

You can also move members of one group to any static with a contextual menu (right-click) in the right pane (select the references you want to move first). It is a non-destructive move (meaning now you'll have the reference in *both* groups), but after you move hit the Delete key and they will be removed from the first group (assuming it is a static group, of course), if you want.
