exporting to reference manager 10

Post by druidmcs »

Hi,

I'm going to be leaving the laboratory I work at soon, and my boss would like a copy of my database for his records. He currently uses reference manager 10, while I use bookends. I've seen some options under export references, and tried to send a databse over as either a "tab-delimited export" or an xml file, but it hasn't worked, and this is a bit out of my league. Can anyone help walk me through how I should export from bookends, and if possible, how I import in RM 10?

Thanks kindly
Jon

See what kind of text files Ref Manager imports. Bookends can output data in EndNote Refer style, which is pretty common...

Right, this is where i am utterly confused. I see dozens of import filters in reference manager, and none of them seem to refer to the ways I can export my references, like the .xml format for exporting to endnote. I'm worried I'm missing something obvious.

I don't have Reference Manager (or a PC, for that matter) so I can't tell you what kind of files it will import. Why not contact their tech support and ask if they can import EndNote Refer files?
