Startup, Spinnig Pizza

I upgraded yesterday to the new 9.2 release. Just bought the program, version 9.1, last week, and have been happily working along. After installing 9.2, the program won't start. I've tried many times, have restarted the computer, re-downloaded and reinstalled 9.2. All to no avail. Typically, the program acts like it's starting, the menus appear, but no database opens, and the system reports the application as "not responding."

I have also tried opening a database directly, rather than clicking on the Bookends icon. No go.

I've been very pleased with this program so far, but this morning it's preventing me getting my work done. Can anyone help?

Just to complete the information on the difficulty: If I try to open one of the "turorial" files included with Bookends, I get this message:

"Database Engine Error: -61"

That usually means the preferences file is use. Are you trying to run two copies of Bookends (9.1. and 9.2) simultaneously? You can't. Make sure that's not the problem.

If it's not, the other suggestion is to remove Bookends 9 Preferences and relaunch.

Thanks a million. I threw away the preferences file, reinstalled everything, and it seems to run just fine. Great program!
