Reprint Dates

Post by caorongjin »

So, in CMS, I am trying to cite something that has an original publishing date and a reprint date and I want to get both of them. So, I need something like:

John Doe, This is my book (Chicago: University of Chicago, 2000 [1956]), 35-50.

However, if I fill the date field with something like "2000 [1956]", I only get the 2000. Is there anyway around this?

Thanks!
Jon

Yes. In the format uncheck "User year-only for dates".

You could also import the year of initial publication (1956 here) into the "Orig Pub" field, and edit the format so that it output this in brackets if available.
