Quotation marks in Bookend & Mellel

Is it possible to have Bookend to respect the choice I have made within the Mellel preferences regarding Typography and the Typographer's Quotes (in my case I have chosen » instead of ").
As it is now, I have to change all the references manually after Bookend have scanned the Mellel document. Bookend should respect the typography preferences chosen within Mellel.
Is this possible to fix?

Or has it to do with how Mellel works?

Bookends has no idea what your Mellel preferences are set to. That's Mellel's business, and it's preferences should override any in Bookends (Mellel also has no idea what Bookends' preferences are, either). The apps pass data back and forth, but otherwise they are black boxes to each other (as they should be).

Alright, I will pass this "case" on to the Redlers then.

I resorted to just being meticulous about putting curly quotes in citations and in my formats.

You just have to be specific as to how your quote marks will appear. For instance, my Chicago Portuguese and French styles are set to use « », whereas my Chicago English counterpart is set to use “ â€
