cite by author/date/unique ID in Mellel

Post by Gerben »

I just realize i inserted all my citations in footnotes (in Mellel, by drag and drop from BE) with the BE prefs set to "city by content". The result is ambiguous citations popping up during the scan. Is there a way to correct this afterwards? Changing the BE pref does not help anymore it seems.

Best,

You can open the problematic citations in Mellel and enter the unique id by hand -- it must be preceded immediately by a # symbol for Bookends to recognize it as a unique id:

#34332354

Alternatively, you can delete the old citation and recreate it with Bookends after setting Preferences to use author/date/unique ID

Thanks!

I just accidently noticed something else: i changed the prefs and scanned the Mellel doc (after manually reinserting some refs). When unscanning the Mellel doc all refs that were input as "cite by content" are now appearing as "city by author/date/unique ID".
