Recent or favorite word processor preference?

Post by suavito »

Hello, this is my fist post here and I want to begin with a huge THANK YOU for the great program!

I bought Bookends bundled with Mellel about a week ago and the two work together perfectly.

But now a third player joined: The new version of Scrivener (actually it's the latest beta, but it will soon become an official release) that I also use has a new Bookends integration. It doesn't have all the features Mellel offers, only the short title in curly brackets, but that's all I need because Scrivener is the program for the earlier stages of work and the texts will get exported to Mellel afterwards anyway.

So I'm using Bookends now with both programs and I find it a little annoying to have to scroll through all of my applications to change the associated word processor in Bookend's preferences.

My suggestion is to add a feature like recent or favorite word processors that contains a small number of the last used (or the somehow marked favorite) word processors – similar to the recent opened files feature most programs have.

Hi,

Thanks.

We have something like that now -- you can change the link on-the-fly to any open application.

File -> Link To

So, leave Preferences set to the app you use more often, but change the link whenever you want to the other (it reverts back to the default when you relaunch).

Wow, it seems the software is way ahead of me. -> Get back to reading the manual.

Thanks for the fast answer.
