Different Footnote and Bib. Formats

Post by Svatopluk »

Hello, I am trying to learn Mellel and Bookends. I have selected Chicago 14th A as my format which should give me different final outputs for footnotes (John Doe, Title) and bibliography (Doe, John. Title) but after scanning in Mellel I only get the bbliography format for both. What am I doing wrong?

With thanks.

The format you use for scanning (in your case: Chicago 14th) is determining the format of your bibliography. For footnotes you have to set a second format. To do so, open the format Chicago 14th an click on the "Bib & Citation Options" tab. In the lower part of the window under "citation" you will see a radio button called "custom citation format", and below that you see the format used for formatting your footnotes. So tweak an existing format to match your needs or create a new one and chose it here.
