Any one out there writing novels (especially historical novels) and using bookends?
I use Mellel; linking it to Bookends, because I a doing a good deal of research seems to be a good idea.
Glad to have points of view.

Hi Jim...
Just my two cents on the topic, but I think you will be FAR better served using Scrivener (
http://www.literatureandlatte.com/index.html)...
Although I'm also a Bookends/Mellel user/lover, I think Scrivener is exactly what you need, at least based on what you mentioned (writing a historical novel, collecting research material)...
Anyways, I guess in the end it all comes down to individual preferences... In MY opinion Bookends/Mellel could probably solve your problems, but Scrivener would solve them in a far more elegant way... Different tools for different jobs...
Check it out and please post your impressions, ok?
Cheers,
MacMelo

No reason why you can't use Scrivener and Bookends together. The latest Scrivener beta has good integration with Bookends. See
this thread on the Scrivener forum. There's another long thread on Scrivener and reference manager software
here.
