smart groups

I am trying to re-create a smart group that I had previously deleted; however, the program continues to give me an error that I must rename the "smart group" because a folder or group has the same name.
I have opened all of my folders and I am unable to find neither a folder/smart group/static group duplicate.
Any suggestions?
