Wow. The UI for Bookends (which I have admittedly complained about in the past as being "non-Cocoa'ish") is vastly superior compared to when I started using Bookends a couple of years ago. Looks really nice.

My favourite features now are seeing attachments in-line, and having the yellow bar in the PubMed search for papers I already have (very nice).

Is there any way to allow me to email a reference AND attachment easily? I want to be able to email a colleague both the reference and the PDF for a particular paper. When I use the current context menu to send a reference, this doesn't include the PDF (or am I mistaken?).

Nice work Jon - your commitment to Bookends is impressive and much-appreciated. I couldn't work without it.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks a lot.

As for sending attachments, I haven't made that available because it won't work with all email clients (for example Eudora, which I use). If I restrict it to Mail, then yes, it's a feature I could add. What do people think about that?

Note that you can drag and drop the attachment (from the ref window view or the list view) onto your email and it will become an email attachment. So it would be two steps: Send Email, go back to Bookends and drag and drop the attachment on the newly created email message.

Hi,

I actually didn't know you could drag and drop the file - very handy! Obviously for me (using Mail) I would prefer a one-step process, but only if it doesn't make it more difficult for others.

I hope others chime in with their thoughts, but until then, thanks for an acceptable solution and the quick reply!

Hi Jon,

Also from me: kudos for the enhancements in Bookends 10.0.3! Given the substance of the update it could easily have been labeled 10.1. in my view.

I also would like to support a feature that will include both reference information and an attachment in one step in an Email.

yes, Mail integration would be pretty sweet!
