Citations in Pages 08

HI Jon,
I know this is an old story, but as you might be aware, a competitor says it can now even scan Pages 08 documents.
Do you think it might be possible to implement it now also in Bookends?
Isn't it "as simple" as to go into the bundle of the document, unpack the index.xml.gz, make changes and resave the gz file?
Might be a bit naive thinking, otherwise you would have already been able to implement that feature, wouldn't you.
It is a pity, having all the style options of pages and then, at the final step being forced to export into rich text.
