Question @ Eliminate authors from final citation

Hi there,

to eliminate an author's name from the final citation I have to precede it with a hyphen. So far so good.

But when I want to have some preceding text with a citation with suppressed author's name this makes trouble:

1. When I insert
\see also \-Foucault, 2007, #68504@69–71
after a scan nothing serious happens but the hyphen is just deleted in the citation text and the final citation logically contains the author's name.

2. If I insert
-\see also \Foucault, 2007, #68504@69–71
the result of a scan is
???
as final citation and
-Foucault, 2007, #68504@69–71\see also \
as citation text.

Is it correct that Bookends is not able to handle preceding text in addition to suppressed author's name (at least in cooperation with Mellel)? Or am I once again to stupid to use the applications correctly?

There would be a workaround of course if you suppress the citation enclosing parentheses, add the citation without the preceding text and then enter the parentheses as well as the preceding text as regular text outside your citation. But anyway I would find it more comfortable for the citing-workflow if preceding text and suppressed author's name would work within the same citation.

I also see that in this case Bookends places quoted text at the end, regardless of whether the quoted text was at the beginning or the end in the citation. I'll look into this...

I have fixed this for the next update (it only happens with Mellel, BTW -- it already works properly with Word or RTF files).
