Linking to another Reference?

Post by matthias »

Is is it possible to insert a hypertext link in the abstract or notes field? That would be handy in order to allow for a kind of (cross) reference to other references in the database.

Hi,

That's an interesting idea, but it is not possible now.

Dear Jon, As the quote above mentions, I would also like to be able to insert a hypertext link from the notes field of one reference to the notes field of another reference. The usual example for me is having one author's footnote to another author's reference and being able to jump to the notes for the other work.

For instance, in my notes for author Donnelly is her reference to King, p.2. I would have this as [See King, p.2]. The content inside the brackets would be hypertext linked to the appropriate place in the set of notes for King. All of this being within the BE notes fields for the two references. When you responded to matthias last year, this was not possible.

Hi,

Try the Edit-> Copy Hypertext LInk as Text and the Paste in to the field you want in another reference. This should appear as a live link in the Concise View or in notecards.
