Publication Year Range

I am having problems finding a format/formula that will display not just a four digit year (publication date), e.g. for books, but also a range, such as "1974-1986".
How would I tweak, say, Turabian to get this output? Thanks.

Hi,
Uncheck "Year-only for date" in the format (second tab) and Bookends will output whatever is in the date field.

Easy enough! Thanks! I have seen that checkbox before, but never quite knew what it was for...! Now I know!

It would be great to have a similar option to the asterisk (for defining a user-defined field to be treated as an author-field) to define a user-defined field as to be treated like a date field.
best regards.

Dear Jon,
Unchecking "year-only for dates" in the fourth tab of the format window allows me to output year ranges (e.g. 1912-1914) in the list of references. However, the intext citation still displays the first year of the range only: e.g. (Smith, 1912) instead of (Smith, 1912-1914). How can this be changed?

Are using using the author-date citation method? If so, you can't change this. But you can create a custom citation format and, by unchecking "use year for date", have Bookends output the entire contents of the date field. Please see APA 5th for an example of such a format.
